Where? At The Wellbeing Centre, Whitchurch
When? 20th July 2019
Who runs our course?
The infant massage and reflexology course for instructors is a specialist programme developed by Louise Davies. The owner of The Wellbeing Centre and a Complementary Therapist graduating from Cardiff Metropolitan University with a BSc (hons) in Complementary Healthcare with Practitioner Status.
Louise developed the programme after attending a baby massage training course. She decided to incorporate both massage and reflexology to allow therapists to bring the skill of both massage and reflexology together.
As well as developing a massage routine, the programme includes a “first aid kit” for common ailments, such as teething, earache and asthma. You will be taught methods in both massage and reflexology for each ailment. This will provide the opportunity to select which is more appropriate in a situation and what the child prefers.
Starting a baby and toddler out in life with the basic skills learnt in the programme gives both the child and the parents a wonderful way of naturally supporting challenging issues of development. As well as promoting a healthy reliance, they are hands-on techniques and self care that should carry on into life.
The skills you will learn
On this programme you will learn how to work with babies and children of any age. There will be a lot of practical help with the particular skills needed to work with the little ones and their parents. You will then be able to work on a 1:1 basis or run small classes or workshops of your own.
